Jeep Cherokee XJ Rear Bumper for the 84-01
These bumpers were designed in Auto Cad. We use 1/8”, 3/16” and 1/4” Steel Plate for these bumpers. We cut the steel in house on our 33 ton twin head CNC press. Welding is done with both Tig and Mig welding machines. Bumper mounting: This bumper mounts to the factory rear mounts as well as the lower factory hitch mounts in the frame. Eight ½-13 bolts drop down through the frame and into these tie ins as well as the eight 3/8” bolts on the rear mounts! Grade 8 and grade 5 mounting bolts and hardware are included with this rear bumper. The bottom and ends are tapered for increased departure angle and maximum ground clearance 2" unrated receiver hitch box for accessories is standard and this bumper also has a lower removable panel to make access to the hitch pin easy. Box tubing ties this hitch box into the frame mounts. ¾” D-ring mount are standard at no extra cost and they also tie in through the bumper to the main mounting. The tire carrier is fabricated from 1 ½” 3/16” wall square tubing; with ¼” and 3/16” plate used as needed. Wheel mounting pad is ¼” thick and has a 4.5” bolt pattern standard unless otherwise specified. The latch is a push down type and a stop plate with a through pin is used to limit upward travel. This swings on ¾” Hiem joints that are adjustable. These joints are supported with 3/16” and ¼” steel that extends through the bumpers top plate and into the main frame of the bumpers mounts.
